Pneumatic control valves

Sealed electrical components

Pneumatic tubing
Ranger Next Generation™ tire changers are equipped with high-pressure polyurethane pneumatic tubing with mirror-smooth seamless bore for exceptional flow rates, high abrasion resistance, high burst tolerance, as well as maximum kink resistance.

Left and right-side tower drop-center design
The powerful left-side assist tower boasts a multi-profile traveling drop-center tool which holds stubborn sidewalls in the drop-center, a single lower bead lifting disc, and a pneumatic non-marring wheel positioning and restraint device which makes external mounting procedures as simple as possible, it also helps restrain wheels during inflation. A tire iron slot is built into the bead-lifting discs which will give operators additional leverage for difficult tire handling. The upfront controls paired with a sensible ergonomic design will provide ease of use, and more efficient operation. Heavy-duty, tri-flange, cast-iron assist tower carriage features linear way bearings for years of maintenance-free operation.
Additionally, a right-side assist tower comes equipped with dual power-drop top bead assist rollers which will be able to help hold top beads in place during removal and installation of tough sidewall tires. An additional bead-lifting disc and sidewall roller will enhance the tire handling capability even further.
Tilt-back tower design
The tilt-back tower delivers greater clearance and access for tire removal and inflation. Pneumatic-lock tool head stays positioned on the tower return for instant set up for like sets of tires and wheels.
Stainless steel and aluminum pneumatic cylinders
Ranger has designed their cylinders to reduce machine vibration while providing low friction and long-life operation. The end-of-stroke cushions come standard, and they help provide support at the end of each full stroke to reduce wear on seals, wear band, and piston rod. This’ll provide outstanding service life thanks to permanent lubrication.
Multi-function mount and demount head
The hardened alloy steel mount and demount head feature a unique equi-dimensional shape which allows you to perform all changing functions with the tool head in the same position. The micro-smooth tool head surface glides tire beads effortlessly during mounting and demounting procedures which will ensure that costly tire damage is minimized.
Standard wheel service accessories
There are a wide range of wheel service accessories designed to keep your shop running as smoothly as possible. Some items are necessary such as a soap bucket and brush, a plastic wheel protector kit with turntable jaw covers, bead-breaker blade boots, and specialized mount/demount head covers. Having those just makes your life in the shop infinitely easier. It also wouldn’t hurt to have a hardened steel tire iron and bead lever tool just in case you encounter the most stubborn tire change job out there.
Spring-assisted tool shaft
A rigid, 45mm spring-assisted hexagonal vertical tool shaft, combined with a hardened-steel horizontal outrigger support arm will have you maintaining a perfect position of the mount-demount tool head during all tire service procedures which will reduce the chance of expensive wheels getting damaged.
Guide bearings for all moving parts
All moving parts feature maintenance-free linear guide bearings which allow for easy adjustment of both vertical and horizontal wheel settings. Its non-flex horizontal arm also features a hardened lower roller guide for smooth and controlled in-and-out movement. The R80EX also has integrated rubber bump-stops which will ensure smooth return during tilt-back operations to help reduce shock loading and minimize wear on tower guides and moving parts.
TurboBlast™ bead seating
An exclusive feature to Ranger tire changers is the TurboBlast bead seating system. It forces air to help seat stubborn beads. Using a powerful blast from an attached hose, the non-marring nylon discharge barrel features a contoured tab that will lock securely on the edge of the rim for better control during air discharge between the tire and wheel. The R80EX also features a welded-steel, eight-gallon surge tank which is always ready for heavy-duty use and extremely fast charge times.

Ranger DST30P, 110-220V, GR-YEL
DST30P Wheel Balancer: One-Spin, Minimal Weight Placement
The DST30P is capable of accurately and efficiently calibrating wheel and tire configurations. Similar to the DST-2420 wheel balancer, the DST30P can handle wheels up to a 30” diameter. It also contains most of the same working components as the DST-2420, with one exception. Ranger has taken the 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder from the DST-64T, and they’ve built it into this more compact unit so you’ll have incredibly precise wheel weight placements.

The larger encoder features precision-cut square teeth which can convert rotary position to a digital electronic signal, so you can quickly achieve maximum profile and top-dead-center positioning. As part of Ranger’s ongoing mission to supply shops and garages of all sizes, they’ve reduced the DST30P’s footprint by narrowing the chassis.

Direct-Drive
The Direct-Axis drive system helps ensure that the DST30P keeps running smoothly over time. A single belt connects the motor and unbalance sensor, which eliminates most maintenance costs during your wheel balancer’s many years of service.
Highly precise digital sensor technology
The DST30P doubles the potential placement for wheel weights while still maintaining a space-conscious and cost-effective shop solution. It features dynamic, static, and ALU balancing modes which come standard on each unit. It also boasts dual plane calibration for all OEM configurations and performance wheels.
Ranger’s proprietary Digital Sensor Technology includes a 16-digit digital sensor processor and single-chip technology which results in better speed and accuracy in your readings. OEM and performance wheels require this sort of intuitive technology for proper balancing in your readings, so make sure that any wheel balancer you choose is fully capable of servicing these specialized wheel types.
Single-chip circuit board architecture upgrades performance and reliability over multi-chip installations, (e.g., latency reductions, substantial boost in device throughout). A quick, dedicated hyper transport protocol allows data to communicate with the micro-processor much faster than it would otherwise be possible. The single-chip boards also use less power and can better dissipate heat.
Multi-directional quartz piezoelectric load sensors
Dual-component piezoelectric quartz load sensors and a digital rotation encoder measure longitudinal, transversal, and shear effects for multi-directional force unbalance detection. The piezoelectric force sensors are some of the most sensitive that Ranger has ever developed, and they offer superior stability and fatigue resistance for unlimited service life with your wheel balancer. High-rigidity quartz crystal sensors offer high frequency detection in all three measured directions.
Quick and precise setup
You’ll be able to work on essentially all wheel types since you’ll have a diverse arrangement of hardened-steel mounting cones. Some wheel types you'll be able to work on include most light trucks and SUVs. A rubber “quick-nut” bell adapter, with a non-marring rear cone mount pressure cup, holds mounted wheels securely in place, and is sure to not accidentally damage tires or wheels during balancing procedures.
Mounting cone package
The DST30P wheel balancer tooling package includes car and light truck cones, as well as a heavy-duty truck cone. This high-quality package comes complete with three “smaller” cones: 1.75” - 2.75”, 2.75” - 3.50” and 3.50” - 4.25”, in addition to one truck cone 4.50”-5.00”. Once an optional accessory, the 4.5”-5.0” truck cone now comes standard.
If you need a larger cone, there is an even larger double-sided centering Truck Cone Kit which can fit 4.75”-6.75” is sold separately and fits the DST30P.
The double-sided centering cone fits hub sizes 4.75”-6.75”. Simply put, Ranger wheel balancers can easily accommodate most OEM and aftermarket wheel configurations.
Tape weight feeder
The DST30P has a tape weight feeder located conveniently on a side-shelf that’s built into the wheel balancer. You’ll never have to worry about losing or misplacing your Ranger easy-to-peel adhesive tape weight.
64-tooth encoder improves automatic weight optimization
The weight calculations on the DST30P wheel balancer are more accurate than the DST-2420. In fact, it’s twice as accurate as the DST-2420. Ranger has taken something great and made it even greater. Now you can balance your tire and wheel configurations with the most precise placements possible. The 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder offers more precise placement readouts by making it easier to achieve maximum profile and top-dead-center positioning. You’ll be using less weight while you save more time. Overall, it just increases your bottom line.
Full-tilt display panel
Ranger has taken the touch-pad display panel on the DST-2420 wheel balancer and raised it up, tower-style, for the DST30P. This design improvement offers more flexibility in how you work. It has an extended, fully adjustable display which avoids the problem of glare that can shroud readouts on the screen, and it’ll ensure that differently abled operators will enjoy a more ergonomic experience as they calibrate tire and wheel configurations.
LED rolling wheel weight displays
The LED displays are highly visible and show exactly where to place the weights in mere seconds. These LED indicators let you see weight positions when the mounted wheel is rolled top-dead-center. As mentioned, the DST30P sports an improved encoded wheel over the DST-2420, which means the LED display on the DST30P is far more sensitive and accurate than ever before.
Wheel weight starter kit
Whenever you get a Ranger wheel balancer, you’ll get a starter set of wheel weights at no additional cost. This kit has one bulk roll of 100 silver adhesive steel tape weights and 100 black adhesive steel tape weights. You’ll also get a starter box of mixed clip-on steel weights. If you need any additional weights, they can be purchased in bulk at your convenience.
